Artist - Cherry Pistols
Track - Chester Copperpot
A very hard and exhausting shoot, but also a lot of fun. This was my first attempt at capturing a cyclocross race as well as my first time at a cyclocross race. Doing a one person shoot at one of these is not for the faint of heart, if I had any idea how much running with a 10lb rig was required I probably wouldn't have done it. That being said I am pretty happy with the final product, and intend to do more races.
Lots of props to Red Wheel Bike Shop of Jefferson City for hosting the 2-day event (day 1 to be posted soon), and very very special thanks to the Cherry Pistols for letting me record and use their heavenly tune for this short. Long live Chester Copperpot!
What I used:
Shot with Nikon D800 - Tamron 28-75mm 2.8 - Custom DSLR cage (i.e. got all my parts at the hardware store) & EzFoto Follow Focus + 15mm Rod Rig Base Plate with Quick Release Plate, and a GoPro Hero3 Black. Edited in FCPX. Tascam D-40 for Cherry Pistols jam session.
