Canon EOS Rebel SL1 Video Test

A 1080p video shot with the new Canon EOS Rebel SL1 DSLR at 29.97fps. I edited with Apple iMovie'09 and used Quicktime to compress at best quality a 300mb h264 video file. I paired the new Canon EOS Rebel SL1 with the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L and the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS lenses. For audio capture, I used the new RODE VideoMic with the Rycote Lyre Suspension System shotgun microphone. For support, I used the new Manfrotto MVH500AH fluid video head paired with BENRO 3580 tripod legs. To help with critical focus, I used the new Hoodman Custom Finder Kit with the H32 Hoodloupe and Custom Bracket Base Plate to magnify the LCD screen.
The video footage of the Canon EOS Rebel SL1 was captured by the Canon EOS 5D Mark III paired with the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS zoom lens on top of a Manfrotto 701 HDV fluid video head with a BENRO 3580 tripod legs. The 5D Mark III used an AZDEN ECZ-990 shotgun microphone for audio capture.
The new Canon EOS Rebel SL1 is currently the lightest and smallest DSLR in the digital market today. Sporting an 18 megapixel CMOS APS-C sensor with DIGIC 5 processor, the Canon EOS Rebel SL1 has a 4 fps shutter rate with 9 AF points in the viewfinder. With full manual video exposure and audio level controls, this Full HD DSLR can capture video in various resolutions with the help of a very useful 3.2 inch LCD touchscreen. The audio is further enhanced with a built in microphone and a microphone connection for an external microphone.
